Farewell Virginia, Hello North Carolina!

After 16 nights at the BOQ at the Naval Station in Norfolk, VA, we are safely tucked into the Lambeth Inn at Lake Junaluska, NC!

We began the day with breakfast at The Pancake House in Norfolk. Talk about yummy food!!! Sweet Potato pancakes and the best bacon in town made for a terrific start to the day. Then we mailed off several boxes (to Belinda's brother Rob in Colorado) before checking out of the BOQ. Charles did another expert packing job, getting ALL our stuff into the car: Amazing!

Then it was so-long to the Navy base and off on our cross-country adventure... Highlights of the first day's driving were two stops at Cracker Barrels, one in Virginia and the other in NC (Belinda is highlighting each of the stops on a full-sized Cracker Barrel map). The driving was very comfortable with little in the way of note. It was nice driving by places we'd seen during our NC years such as Thomasville & High Point (both are famous for furniture) in NC.

We'd always wanted to come to Lake Junaluska, the HQ of the Southeast Juridiction of the UMC. We're looking forward to going to church tomorrow, the church on the lake looks awesome from here.

More to follow!
