Sunny Sunday

Wow, what a difference a week makes! Today was dazzling with sunshine, bright blue skies, and temps in the upper 30s. This being Sunday, we managed to get to church at 0800 and enjoyed ourselves a good deal.

We attended the First Baptist Church of Norfolk (VA), a very large church (www.firstnorfolk.org) with a lot going on. We went there at the invitation of the dentist Charles saw at the base dental clinic on Friday, CAPT Chip Anderson. The service had over 200 in attendance (at 8AM!) with a 32-member choir, drums, guitars, and more! Afterwards we went to CAPT Anderson's Sunday school class (he led the week's lesson) which was really interesting for us. There were more people in Sunday school than I've had in most Sunday services over the past few years!

After church, we went to Newport News and got Belinda into her very first Cracker Barrell! It was really yummy and the experience was everything we were hopping it would be. Even the wait to get seated was made enjoyable with a stop at the mall across the road and the coffee shop in the Barnes & Noble bookstore, the hot chocolat for Belinda was awesome and the latte was terrific for Charles!

A warmer day is in the offing for tomorrow so we hope to take advantage of it...
