Today stated off with a proper "lie-in." We thought it best to rest today, since the next several days will include a lot of driving. It was back to Shoney's for brunch (an amazing value for the money, don't you know?!).
We returned to the "lake," and paid a visit to their Cokesbury store. What a great array of things to peruse. We even bought a few things (books, trinkets).
The weather was amazing today. Yesterday it snowed; today the sun was shining and the temperature reached the mid-50's! Charles took advantage of this and played golf at the Lake Junalusa Golf Course. It was a wonderful way to play golf AND be able to take in the beautiful surroundings of the mountains of North Carolina! (Meanwhile, Belinda relaxed back at the inn and got caught up on her favorite soap operas. A lot has changed in the three years we were out of country.)
Then we toured the World Methodist Museum here at the lake. If you are in the area, it is a "must-see," to be sure! We so enjoyed looking at all the displays, MANY reminders of our time spent doing the "Wesley walk" while we were in England the last three years! Later this evening, we returned to the museum to enjoy a special guided tour of selected exhibits that featured the life and work of Charles Wesley, this being the 300th anniversary of his birth. We met so many interesting people there, fellow clergy and spouses, gifted lay ministers, etc. We were so impressed that we joined the "Friends of the Museum" group!
All in all, it was a lovely day in the mountains!
