After saying goodbye to our place in Norway, IL this morning, we set off on a westward path along I-80, headed for Iowa.
A highlight of the day's drive was a visit to the Amana Colonies, just west of Iowa City (www.amanacolonies.org). This is a fun place to visit, lots of quaint shops, gallaries, wineries and more. We think we just might have to make a return visit when we have more time to visit the seven villages that comprise this historic community.
Another treat today was that we were able to stop at several Cracker Barrels along the way today - in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri! Belinda is one happy girl to be sure!!
We are just outside of Kansas City tonight, Belinda flies to visit her mother tomorrow afternoon while Charles heads to Nebraska to attend a retreat at a Benedictine monastary in Schuyler, Nebraska.
