Sunday in Colorado

Today went nothing like we had anticipated it would, it was even better!

We spent the night in Fort Morgan, CO last night, enjoying the quiet rest after the rush that was Annual Conference. This morning, we emerged into a rather warm day and made our way to the First UMC of Ft. Morgan for their 11:00 a.m. service. We were really impressed with this church, very friendly people in a beautiful setting. This is a church that really gets the radical hospitality that is needed today.

It turns out that the pastor, Rev. Phil, knew Charles' Uncle Richard and Aunt Joyce and had even served the church Aunt Joyce attends in Loveland, CO! We ended up eating lunch with them after church with others from the church at a cute Chinese restaurant. Then we got invited to go back to their house and then went with them to see Shrek3. What wonderful people! To make things even better, Charles got invited to come back next week and preach at all three services at the church! What a terrific day!

Following that, we headed south and west to the Hammitt family home in Monument, CO (Belinda's brother Rob & family live here). We are house-sitting for them while they visit friends and family in Texas. It was a lovely drive with plenty of wildlife along the way to spice-up the drive. We even saw a coyote trot across the road as we approached the house. It was so cool!

Now we're tucked into the house, a real treat for us after so many nights on the road. No telling what the week will bring, so come on back and see for yourself!
