Oh, the Places We Go!

Yesterday was a rainy day here in Colorado, just the right weather for some shopping in Colorado Springs and getting some rest in the Hammitt abode in Monument.

Today, Charles struck out on his own, covering a good swath of central Colorado while Belinda took advantage of the quiet to take care of herself with a time to rest and relax.

Charles drove west early this morning, heading for the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park (http://www.nps.gov/blca. The route along US-50 takes in some of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. Watching rafters on the Arkansas River and seeing a herd of Big Horn Sheep (on the way back) made the drive really special. The park itself isn't as well-known as some of the National Parks we've been to on this trip, but it was well-worth the effort to get there.

The last stop for Charles on the way back to Belinda in Monument was the Royal Gorge Park and Bridge (www.royalgorgebridge.com). This is the tallest suspension bridge in the world (over 1,000 feet) and also the longest aeriel tram. Charles went there partially because this is the sort of place that Belinda wouldn't find that much fun!

Tomorrow looks to be a beautiful day, so come back and see what we do with it!
